Aren't We Just Over Reacting?

Why are we here? At Single at Church, we aim to shine a light on an important issue within The Church that deserves our attention. Many may not realize, but older singles often face challenges that can make them feel sidelined compared to their married counterparts. It’s time to recognize the value and contributions of every individual in our community. Together, we can create a welcoming environment where all are celebrated, and thrive. Let’s work towards fostering vibrant and Godly churches that uplift and embrace everyone.

Second Class Citizens?

Many churches struggle to support older singles. It's important to treat everyone with kindness and respect.

No Service Allowed!

Many Churches often overlook single individuals when it comes to filling their vacant ministry roles. This exclusion can extend to the point where certain Churches may not even allow single people to volunteer for their ministry needs, which can be disheartening. This situation can create a challenging environment for those who are eager to contribute to their community and serve within a church setting.

Lack of Numbers in Church

Sure! When you think about it, 1+2 really does equal 3, just like how focusing on key groups helps you connect with them better. If you overlook a specific audience, you might just miss out on reaching them, and that’s totally normal!

Is Church Really for Everyone?

According to Christ, YES! However, The Church doesn't act like it.

The Church Must Change, Now if it is to Survive!

Change is not always bad or Unbibical!

Change is sometimes Necessary!

Demographics are changing!  According to USAFacts in 2024 only 47.1% of households were headed by married couples.

You can still serve God!

You do not have to be alone!

The Church MUST love everyone, not just married couples!

Church hurt is a challenge we can overcome together, and remember, you’re not alone in your journey. The feeling of being overlooked in a church setting can be painful, especially when you’re seeking connection as a single individual. However, it’s essential to recognize that these experiences can lead to incredible growth and resilience. The true essence of church is about fostering relationships with fellow believers. If you encounter unwelcoming attitudes, take heart – this just highlights the importance of finding the right community. When you bravely return to confront these feelings, remember that healing is a process, and each step forward brings you closer to peace and understanding.  Together, we can break the cycle and find hope once more.

One final thing:

This site is very intentional and at times blunt.  I often don’t sugar coat things that is not my style, nor does it work (trust me I’ve tried.)  People simply do not listen when you say pretty and please with sugar on top.
